Finding One's Truth North MEASURES OF TRUTH as a book/blog offering, is meant for personal revelation and reconciliation of sacred truths, both personal and universal, shedding light on both material and spiritual aspects of reality. MEASURES OF TRUTH shares a template for objective universal truths, as well as those subjective truths individually validated which are confirmed by one's own internal realization and experience. The measures of truth to be considered in the following pages and video logs, are not so much measures of truth to be memorized, but rather a reminders of resonant truth - those truths which are already accessible by Source consciousness within, but mostly obscured by worldly paradigms. Eternally existent truths which have been somehow existentially forgotten due to the influence of the material modes of nature, can be retrieved from one's heart-space, sparked by intention to reconnect with Source/God/Creator. These modes of nature are acquired temporarily, during each spirit/soul's descent into this material realm, and into a material body temporarily used as a vehicle. One's pure, conscious, spirit/soul descends into material circumstances and conditions orchestrated by higher cosmic authority - for both independent expression of free will, and conscious growth spiritual consciousness - if so desired. In the Bhakti tradition, the sometimes nebulous phrase of "higher spiritual consciousness" is linked to understanding one's spiritual form, qualities and function. This remembrance/self-realization occurs naturally as one understands and experiences being linked in a relationship of unconditional love with the all-conscious form, qualities and function of one's spiritual Source/God/Creator. One's conscious energy, when engaged as heartfelt actions in service of such absolute truth, is the link which bridges the infinitesimal unit of conscious energy, to infinite Source consciousness and divine love. The divine, tiny spark of spiritual consciousness which is each individual spirit/soul, has all the hallmarks of it's Source/Creator, including a measure of consciousness. By individual heartfelt acts of loving devotion based on absolute truth and unconditional love, the Infinite is induced by love to reveal it's infinite mysteries and reality. Even within the limitations of one body, mind and individual consciousness, one can be linked-in to infinite Source - by love. Via the medium of one's service-saturated thus sanctified heart of hearts, various degrees of the infinite knowledge and personal, unconditional love flowing within each being from Source, can be revealed in one's spiritual heart-space. This is nicely described in the tenth chapter of Bhagavad Gita, wherein the Personality of Godhead says: Ultimately, unconditional love is the hallmark, purpose and defining quality of the one Source energy from which we all as spiritual beings, individually hail from. Source energy as the Personality of Godhead, is where each eternal individual soul and personality is radiated from, and is always lovingly connected to even if forgotten by each spirit/soul who descends into the material realm and conditioning. Everyone's Source can be personally known and seen with spiritually purified eyes - even in this world if sincerely desired. Such vision is rare, because such desire and conviction is very rare. What's not rare are people worldwide more concerned with personal profit, power, prestige, control of the masses, who market and impose themselves on world under mostly false pretenses, selling religious or scientific salvation. Whether out of ignorance or blatant contempt and envy a higher Source, knowledge often gets weaponized against those who foolishly follow those who use any resource available to them lord over those with little discernment. In the jungle, the strong consume the weak. Even in so-called human society, so-called leaders in the realms of both religion and science have abused the faith and trust given them, time and time again. Buyer beware, or better yet, do your own research and decide yourself who and what to believe! Source in each person's heart will lead one, according to one's sincerity. It should go without saying, one cannot bluff the all-knowing. If one's sincerely is compromised by some ulterior motive, then Source will hook one up with someone who is also insincere, and has ulterior motives. Funny how that works. Foolish people are quick to blame Source/God for allowing inequities in the world, when actually it is the people of the world who are the source of the inequities. Funny how that works. The material modes of nature, namely goodness, passion, and ignorance, along with their symptoms, are described in one of the main sacred texts in the Bhakti Mystery School, namely The Bhagavad Gita - As It Is (recommended edition 1972 by AC Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada which is recognized by scholars and students worldwide). The "Gita" has been praised by early American transcendentalists Emerson and Henry David Thoreau. Henry David Thoreau wrote "In the morning I bathe my intellect in the stupendous and cosmogonal philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita in comparison with which our modern world and its literature seem puny and trivial." Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote: "I owed a magnificent day to the Bhagavad Gita". "It was as if an empire spoke to us, nothing small or unworthy, but large, serene, consistent, the voice of an old intelligence which in another age and climate had pondered and thus disposed of the same questions which exercise us.” Once understanding the ropes that bind, the unraveling of those ropes can be begin, by the mercy and service of those who been freed by their own teachers, and freely pass down the wisdom. It is by various agents divine mercy that one is freely offered such sacred wisdom, with the only real cost being one's spiritual greediness fully apply the laws of eternal reality - even at the expense cutting loose the anchors of past attachments and conceptions which do not serve one's journey of spiritual enlightenment, empowerment, and blissful collaborations of loving exchanges with pure Source energy. One of the beautiful and merciful aspects of the Bhakti Yoga process is that it is heart-based - knowing that the all-pervasive and all-knowing Source is residing with each soul in one's spiritual heart, guiding and assisting one, from within and without. It is by experiencing a higher taste of reality, by such divine grace taking many forms, that one can release past attachments and misconceptions - they naturally dissolve as basically non-attractive, having been replaced by a more enjoyable alternative, rather than by an artificial rejection on theoretical principles. Renunciation of unwanted habits is only effected in a lasting way, by having an experinece of something better. The brilliance of one's own spirit/soul, once revealed within the heart and reconnected with Source love and brilliance, is one's spiritual birthright and highest prospect. Such inherent spiritual truths can be uncovered by a bit of introspection, once hearing about them from Souce texts and pure agents of Souce who remind a sincere student of transcendent, normally unseen eternal realities. Source texts and empowered agents in different ages, can offer a spiritual vision and point of view from beyond the shackles of material conditioning, which cloud one's vision of higher truth and reality. The layered excavation the building blocks of matter, which have covered one's eternal truth and spiritual identity and form, eventually become digested by one's own spiritual progress. This is a natural consequence when one's relationship to the conscious Source of matter and spirit is known and lovingly embraced by both each spark of spirit, and by the conscious Source of all that is. One can feel such loving liberation develop gradually in the present moment, and forever more, once embracing the path of divine love and service. The depth of love and knowledge of one's self, and Source, is an eternal dance, not bound by time or space. The Supreme Personality Of Godhead - The Supreme Source As Origin Of All - Truth Absolute - The Source Of All That Is - That Source From Which Everything Emanates, The Cause of All Causes Each person is already is in fact, a measure of eternal truth; a measure of eternal conscious energy, eternally connected to an energetic conscious Source from which everything emanates - which is Absolute Truth. Truth can be experienced as vast and beautiful, shocking, enlightening, and both within and beyond one's present scope of understanding. Truth can be personal and impersonal at the same time. Personal truth can be conscious and unconscious at the same time - but always connected higher Truth sometimes knowingly and sometimes unknowingly. Truth has many layers categories of manifestation and potency - some of which are conceivable by the human mind, and some of which are beyond the normal capacity of the mind grasp or express. Such truths are categorized in the Sanskrit language in the Bhakti tradition as "Acintya", meaning "inconceivable potency". The limited potency of the materially affected human mind, intellect, and sense of identity/ego, to experience the higher realms of knowledge and information, can be enhanced, when the consciousness of the living being is linked with the Source of all consciousness and knowledge. Although such states of consciousness can be reached by various means - some temporary and sometimes lasting in one's time-frame - in the Bhakti tradition, this type of leveling up in consciousness is more of a stepping stone, rather than an end-zone. It is not enough to know what we are not, without knowing who and what we truthfully are. Granted it is rare in this age to achieve "Cosmic Consciousness" in Western terms, or "Brahman Realization' in Eastern yogic vernacular. This state of consciousness is realized by the individual, conscious experiencer as full detachment material energy; knowing that one's body and the designations of one's material body are a masterful yet convincing temporary illusion. This may be mind-blowing to experience liberation from matter and individual eternal existence as a spark of conscious spirit - but not necessarily completely spirit/soul defining, in the Absolute sense. Yet unknown, is 1, What is the energetic Source of one's conscious and eternal existence, and 2. What if any, is the relationship might one enjoy with one's energetic Source, in the realm of "oneness" and pure spiritual energy? This is a very confidential aspect of transcendent knowledge found and taught in the Bhagavad Gita. Truth, in all of it's various shapes and forms, exists - because truth springs from an absolute Source; a Source which radiates both unconscious and conscious energies - inconceivably and simultaneously. When seeking truth, one is encouraged to inquire about what is not known. by anyone questioning. So one may naturally ask: is there any proof, for those truths claimed in the statements above? Good question! There are two important primary answers regarding the nature of actual conclusive truth, where it comes from, and how truth is "proved" or validated on various levels, or known in numerous categories. Be assured however, that his blog does not aim to take one down endless academic rabbit holes and compare theories - which are mostly inconclusive anyway. You can read other books, or spend large amounts of money to attend a university of your choice world-wide, if that's what you want to do. Contrarily, you will gain more from this blog by an initial and somewhat shocking understanding that almost everything proposed philosophical by higher education is either woefully inadequate, blatantly speculative, meant to justify questionable agendas, just patently false, or purposely falsified. It is true a medical student may learn how to set a broken bone. Whether that leads the student on to a happy life is another question. Universities are mostly meant for job training with considering any meaning or purpose to life, other than getting an economic leg-up on the rest of the world. One may go to school to get a job, but one may need to look somewhere else, to get a life. Common knowledge of new the golden rule, those with the gold make the rules. The drama ensues then among the players and pawns. Whether a player or a pawn as karma may have it, you can find truth here that can make you happy. Who am I, your unknown author, to make such claims? Let it be known that views stated above and herein, are not my personal opinions or conclusions alone, but are based on transmission of truths handed down by realized masters, to their students, in a lineage actually reaching back before time as we know it. How did those "masters" become enlightened, and how can information be passed down to the present, that was present "before time as we know it" one might reasonably ask? The answers with be elucidated in the pages to follow. So that you will not accuse me at this moment in your mind of a "bait and switch" tactic to entice you to read a book you may have doubts about, without providing at least some the goods upfront, please find a brief summary below. Just as radio waves invisibly transmit sound bites, and wifi signals can also invisibly transmit text, images, and stream video, information can be transmitted on even more subtle pathways, not visible to the naked eye. The Bhakti Yoga mystery school teaches that their is transcendent, Absolute Truth - One Source from which everything - both the material energies manifested (earth, water, fire, air, ether) and non-material or spiritual energy called in the ancient Sanskrit language "Brahman". It is this all-pervasive and conscious Brahman energy upon which everything material rests; it is the Brahman energy that underlies, pervades and consciously connects the universe and it's inhabitants. As stated in Bhagavad Gita, there is not truth superior to this conscious universal truth - that everything created is connected by underlying consciousness, "as pearls are strung on thread." It is also described therein that all living beings are "fragmental particles" of Source/Creator "who are struggling with the six senses, including the mind". More about Source/Creator as truth absolute, to follow. To use one's eye to see the world, has value, but also it's limitations. The human eye cannot perceive the ends of the electromagnetic spectrum of infra-red and ultraviolet rays, nor even the visible world if the eye is closed or devoid of an external source of light. Without the help of a well placed mirror or video feed, the eye cannot see what is behind it. The same can be said of the other four knowledge-acquiring senses; there is a limited range of what the nose can smell, the skin can touch, the tongue can taste, and what the ear can hear. Not only are the senses limited in their range and abilities to render impulses the brain considers as perceptions of truth, but sometimes mistakes are made in interpreting the data, such as mistaking a coiled rope seen in dim light, for a snake. There are optical illusions which are common, such as a line of tree next to a road appearing to merge into one line, or closing one eye and blocking out the sun with one's thumb, giving the impress one's thumb is bigger than the sun. The senses may also subject one to various illusions such as a mirage on the desert, or build an expectation that a beautifully appearing external object, may offer lasting internal satisfaction, once acquired or consumed. Revealed truth in the Vedas, the texts used in classrooms for the Bhakti Mystery School, describe how each soul on earth is covered and conditioned by material body which has four defects, three of which are described above: imperfect senses, and tendencies to commit mistakes, and become illusioned. But that's not all; there is a fourth imperfection, which is more an imperfection character than of sensual limitation. This fourth flaw, is to cheat others. This cheating can take the form of lying, from the simple lie to the compulsive liar who cannot seem to let any truth pass unpolluted. It can mean cheating in a sales transaction, or on a test or on a committed partner. It can be any form of deception, where someone promotes a concept for selfish gain, at the cost of another. It can be revising the history of the entire world, to promote cultural superiority or objectives. It can be promoting a theory, that is only true under certain conditions or parameters, yet seeking public adoration, acceptance, and unlimited funding. It can be promising all answered will be provided in the future, in spite of having no clue in the present. Cheating is everywhere - so much so, that some have concluded this worldly experience being described having a populace of "the cheaters and the cheated". Perhaps we can concluded that individually and collectively, it would be a good idea to "level up". In summary, those are the two short answers as to why we must question, if not unlearn, most of what modern education has offered. On the scientific side, imperfect senses cannot provide perfect, absolute knowledge - knowledge which exists but needs to be downloaded and received on level of Brahman, or non-materially limited, consciousness. Each soul is constituted of of a spark of Brahman energy temporarily covered by the material elements (including the subtle mind and intellect) but is still connected with the one Source/Creator in the region of one's heart. This is described in Bhagavad Gita. With practice and divine mercy, one can hear and meet Source within. Source within, is the guide and friend of all individual sparks of energy. Just like millions of people across a continent can feel the distant sun, locally shining on their heads simultaneously, so spiritual energy simultaneously connects everyone to Source/Creator/Godhead, who waits for us to reconnect to our forgotten heritage. Science and modern education do not offer this knowledge, this truth, but that is not the worst of it. The cheating propensity of individuals and institutions purposely, intentionally, tries to bluff the innocent, or we can also say ignorant, into believing whatever suits their selfish agendas. With bully, bluster and false flags of intellectual superiority, the few who can get away with it, try to control the masses for their own profit or other devilish desires, which don't actually enhance anyone's quality of life or consciousness. Buyer beware! Yes! This blog is for you, if you are interested in a rational approach to spirituality, and want have the mysteries of life revealed to you, in a unique and personal way from within your own heart. Who Benefits Most? Those who are willing to look at other paradigms of reality, alternative timelines and sources of knowledge, and have come to realization that much of what is taught in modern educational systems is either outdated, not useful, inaccurate, agenda-ized, manipulative, or sometimes just patently false.
The promise of a high paying job and a satisfying life, based on spending and or borrowing big bucks to become college educated, is a promise that has lost it's luster for many - but to each their own. For those already college graduated or not and working in mid-life and beyond, grinding along toward the finish line of this lifetime without the satisfaction of realizing one's purpose and place in the universe, the following revealed information may provide some newfound hope and inspiration. Whether one is comfortable or struggling in one's economic, emotional, or health-related situation, the information to follow can be beneficial. The benefit arises from adding spiritual knowledge and practice to augment whatever benefits one now know enjoys, plus offer relief in handling difficult situations, past, present or future. Although everyone's situation varies over time, over time everyone has to periodically endure suffering from one's own body and mind, other sufferings periodically imposed by the mind and and body of others, and sufferings also stemming from the uncontrollable forces of nature. As a preview, in process of Bhakti-yoga and in spiritual advancement in general, one may experience a potential state of consciousness described and Jivan-Mukta. This means that the living spark (Jiva) becomes liberated (Mukta) from all of the coverings of the material energy, and is thereby situated in it full spiritual glory. In such a transcendent state, even while inhabiting a material body on earth, one is in itby but not of it, having realized one's true identity as spark of eternal spirit and child of Godhead. Attempting to put a band-aid on the trifecta of material sufferings mentioned above by consulting doctors, psychiatrists, economic planners, social workers, charity, and good deeds, may temporarily stem the bleeding or misery to a degree, but inherently having a material body which is spiraling toward a death/transition finish line, is the actual primal cause of all discomfort. All other discomforts are part of the package. Transcending one's temporary situation and ultimately becoming free from the cycle of birth and death, depends on one's intelligence and heart-felt desire. The process involves the surrender of one's false ego; a false ego by which one tries to separately reach the top of the heap as the new #1 on the block. Everyone is forced to struggle in this world in one way or another, but there are different struggles which produce different results. The surrender of one's false ego does not mean to give up a as loser, but rather to realize the greatest gain, by being reconnected to an eternal reality wherein one becomes a satisfied lover of Godhead and all of creation. I probably have mentioned sooner, that this blog is for those who already have an inclination to believe that some type of Higher Power exists; a Higher Power which is a conscious, benevolent Source of everything material and spiritual which connects everything and everyone - even it we don't know exactly how that works. I'm not here to debate or prove the existence of God or Godhead as the one source from which everything flows My target audience is those who accept existence of Godhead as a self-evident truth, which is not the exclusive property of any one religious group. I'm also not here to convert one from their path of established faith. Since truth is universal, I do see many crossovers between faiths, but the time and circumstance wherein teaching were revealed, vary as much as the people who received them, and their level of receptivity, which accounts for the varity precepts each faith professes. Spiritual traditions of different countries, does not make Godhead a national of that country. There is only Truth with different attributes, which does not limit Godhead to being a Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish, Christian, Muslim, or anyone else's sole possession. Some liken Godhead to an infinitely-faceted supremely conscious jewel, with each unique facet reflecting the fully unique qualities of the transcendent whole, to viewers from unlimited different angles. Cutting To The Chase of Bondage and Liberation of Humankind The material universes are a place for those who have an envy, or outright denial of Godhead. There are those who think that by enough yoga or breathing or austerities and by detachment, they will eventually become God-Almighty beyond all duality; the One without a second. God-given free will allows for such ambitions - realizable or not. In Bhakti philosophy, oneness means oneness in purpose, with love being the ultimate purpose. The joy of exchanging love and service between the Atma (individual soul) and the Param Purusha (the Supreme Personality of Godhead) is a step beyond just losing one's false ego, and hovering in undifferentiated spirit (Brahman). Any sense of love and satisfying service one experiences in this world, is a limited reflection of the unlimited potential available in the rarefied air of transcendence. In this world, sometimes it's seen that investing one's love and energy, in the service of a person, family, community, or cause, may yield some disappointing or lackluster results. This does not mean that offerings of love and service are maya - that love and service just are an illusion, which have no value. What is an illusion, is to expect a person, family, community or cause, to have a capacity to satisfy others, far beyond their own constitutionally limited capacity to do so. Love and service to the limited, will have limited results; love and service to unlimited Godhead, yields unlimited satisfying potential. Bhakti means learning how to include Godhead, on one's love and service agenda. One's false ego crooked intelligence plan life after life, how to star in one's own movie, while trying conquer others and exploit all of material nature with a sense of entitlement. When the heart is ready, there is alternative slugging it out in this dark universe, endlessly competing with a mob of conditioned souls who are all equally on the same mission of seeking power, control and dominance. For the thoughtful, such introspective questions apply to life itself, not just this blog. This blog will offer information for one to consider and confirm, whether or not the information resonates with one's body, mind and spirit over time. As eternal spiritual beings, everyone has a lot of time in one sense; one's spirit/soul consisting of a non-material spiritual energy and essence never dies, it just changes situations forms over time. On the other hand, one's temporal body on earth is on limited linear timeline measured as the time between one's birth and death. The choices one makes during this time span, impact both one's present and future life(s). The reference books for the knowledge found in the Bhakti Yoga mystery school, are known as the Vedic literatures. Also called the "Vedas" this knowledge was recorded in the Sanskrit language in India, approximately 5,000 years ago. The author, Srila Vyasadeva, was and empowered personality under the tutelage of Sri Narada Muni, who was his spiritual master. Thus divine knowledge was passed down from a qualified spiritual master, to a qualified student or disciple, who was empowered to pass on the wisdom, without adulteration. This has been the process of receiving divine wisdom, throughout time and space. The Vedas speak in volumes on different subject matters, including life on other planets. Different grades of of planets are mentioned, with the consciousness of the residents of different planets spans from heavenly to hellish. What lies beyond the various grades of planets in various, unlimited material universes, is also described. That there is a pure spiritual realm, with divine personalities and planets that are not subject to the cycles of cosmic manifestation and destruction found in the material sphere of existence, is also explained. That there is a Universal Source - an "All-Attractive Supreme Personality of Godhead" who is the cause and origin of both material and spiritual energies, and who has no other cause. This Godhead has both masculine and feminine features, is the source of personal and universal consciousness, and radiates a presence which is underlying and permeating all of creation, both material and spiritual. As the sun which radiates both heat and light in it's rays, so Godhead is the one source of both matter and spirit. Just as an individual is conscious of ones body from head to toe, so Godhead is conscious of all manifestations of matter and spirit, being their one source. The individual is understood be a spark of Godhead, one in quality, but not quantity. Just as a drop of seawater has the same chemical composition as the ocean, so each living entity has a spiritual constitution identical to Godhead, but not exactly equal in terms of power and potency. One can experience the pain and pleasure of one's own body, whereas Godhead is consciousness of everyone's pains and pleasures. This possible by an extensional of Godhead residing in each heart called the Supersoul or Paramatma. The doctrine of Bhakti Yoga as explained directly by Godhead in the Bhagavad-gita (Chapter 13) is that there is 2 knowers in every body, which is one's field of activity. There is the individual knower or soul, and the Supreme knower or Supersoul in each body. The Supersoul is not only the witness of the desires and actions of the individual soul, but sits in the region of the heart along with each soul as the Source of remembrance, forgetfulness and knowledge each soul experiences. Godhead within is actually the strength of the strong on all levels, and is regulator of all abilities, and fluctuations of abilities, each individual expirences throughout life. Similar to Western theology, Godhead is considered to have the qualities of being All-Knowing, All-Powerful, and Ever-present. As child or spark of Godhead, each individual constitutionally has a measure of knowledge, power, and presence, but not the full and unlimited measure found in Godhead. Again, each individual is one with Godhead in a sense, but different in another sense - all with a divine purpose. What is that purpose, one may ask? The purpose of Godhead in expanding into individual, eternal, living beings in the "image" of Godhead, is to expand love and the exchange of varieties of spiritual pleasure without limit. If the desire of Godhead was/is to expand pure unconditional spiritual love, when looking at planet earth and her inhabitants, one could legitimately ask "what went wrong?". If the living being is constitutionally a spark of Godhead spirit with a capacity to exchange eternal love, how did one's spirit become entangled in matter and forget it's eternal identity, purpose, and oneness with Godhead? How on earth, did one's spirit get covered with misconceptions of "I" being a body material elements, further misidentifying in such dualistic designations of: male/female, parent/child, white/black, red/blue, left/right, rich/poor, intelligent/ignorant, of this country/of that country, more than/lesser than, worthy/unworthy, perp/victim, cheater/cheated .. ad infinitum? How is it, that we normally define ourselves by all of these designations - which are all relative to the temporary body one inhabits in comparison to all others - who are also misidentified with their temporary bodies and cultural self-affiliations? Seeing oneself and others as only the material body temporarily inhabited, and devoid of any spiritual component, is termed in Sanskrit as "Maya" which means "that which is not"; something not eternally/spiritual true. "Maya" is also sometimes defined as "illusion". This is because maya presents something that seems to be solid and real, but fades away or changes and is therefore unreal or illusory. One comparison is to a dream, where one may experience happiness or distress, only to wake up to find it was a dream and "not real". The Bhakti Mystery School teaches one how to reconcile apparent contradictions, such as the individual spirit/soul being one with, yet different from the Supreme Personality Godhead; we share traits but not fully potency. Each person individually has creative power, but did not create unlimited universes and arrange their cyclic destruction. That being said, is a different sense, individual souls did play a part in creation, in that the material universes were manifested due to the free will / desire of the individual spirit/soul to experience a world where it was the center of reality; a reality where it could become imitation Godhead, putting itself as the center of purpose of creation. The individual self may choose to separate from Oneness, entertaining the idea everything and everyone else in it's new sphere of identity, is only there to exploit for one's personal desires. This sense of "false ego" or "ahankara" is the first material covering and manifestation of matter and illusion influencing the pure spirit/soul as it enters material airspace in different universes. More on the how and why of this later. Suffice it for now to say the spirit/soul covered by misconceptions and material elements, finds itself completely forgetful of it's origin and purpose, upon it's descent into matter. Layers of matter cover and condition one's originally pure eternal consciousness, on the both the gross (bodily) and subtle (mind, consciousness) layers of reality. Similar to putting on a shirt and coat, the soul is covered by subtle and gross bodies for it's sojourn higher and lower material worlds, universes and planes of consciousness. Symbiotically, the Bhakti school reveals that the desire of the individual soul to become Godhead in toto, is the both the cause of it's first decent into matter with it's shadow reflections of a higher reality, and also, the last snare of illusion one has to overcome, when wanting to return to the original constitutional glory that is the pure soul. Out of frustration during one or countless lifetimes, one may conclude that everything is an illusion, including the self and Godhead. One may envision that self-abnegation, or a type of nothingness nirvana will satisfy the holes in one's heart and mind - or that once disassociating from all names and forms and personality, the only something that will be left, is the energetic cosmic Brahman energy; the divine cosmic white light which will absorb one and shelter one beyond all sense of self, pain, and illusion. Although such a reality and possibility does exist, it is a mid-point rather than and end point for the soul's journey back to Godhead, according to the scriptures and teaching of the Bhakti School. In Bhakti, love is the end point. To experience love, it takes two to tango (dance), as the saying goes. Discarding one's false ego (the ahankara which wanted to be the center of it's own creation), one may become free from all material pains and illusions, but falls short of the ecstatic bliss (ananda) that the soul in it's positive expression, automatically experience. After re-establishing one's loving relationship with Godhead one is situated in qualitative oneness with the Supreme Person; with both the individual soul and Supreme Being having spiritual bodies constituted of eternity (Sat) knowledge (Chit) and bliss (ananda). The Bhakti school offers that the nothingness of Buddhist nirvana is not the end game, although the teachings Buddha did serve a purpose. That's another blog topic. The Nondual concept of the individual merging to the aura of Godhead, never to be seen and heard from again, has it's place in Vedic understanding, but misses the point - that expansion and expression of love is the purpose of Godhead and all individual energies. The shadow of love experienced in the material universe, with it's terms and conditions, does not negate the existence of divine unconditional exchanges of love with unlimited potential. Intuitively, many feel this possibility exists, in spite of so many beat-downs and disappointments that materialistic conditioned life has to offer. The constitutional glory of the soul in it's relationship to All-knowing, Ever-loving Godhead, is one of unconditional and unmotivated loving service. Although fully satisfied and independent, Godhead loves to exchange love, when given freely, from one's free will, and without condition. Godhead responds in kind, and more. Love in spirit, is not like the business-like transactions we mostly see in the mundane world - where everything has it's price, calculated value and conditions. When the spirit/soul realizes that having a material body, caused by the desire to imitate Godhead, is not working out - when all attempts at lasting pleasure are cancelled time after time by the death of the body in various incarnations, a process of introspection and knowledge-seeking may begin. For such an individual, modern education even up to it's highest levels, are woefully inadequate. Modern schools and universities offer very sparse knowledge of mystery school topics if any, or a solid curriculum for discovering the origin and purpose of life. Nor do most institution have an inclination for such topics, deferring to job education for those seeking the best income possible. Furthermore, research grants for breakthroughs in knowledge are mainly funded by corporate or government agencies, who have their own agendas which are primarily economic or militaristic - neither of which aim at knowledge evolution of one's spirit or the spiritual up-liftment of humankind. In summary, the knowledge found therein has been accepted by the Bhakti Mystery School lineage as having been revealed by Universal Source / The Supreme Personality of Godhead, and therefore not opinions generated from the mostly fertile-but-feeble minds of scientific, academic or religious speculators. In Sanskrit, this knowledge is called "Apaurusheya" which translates as "not generated from the mind of man". How then was it transmitted? It was divinely transmitted to the heart of purified souls and handed down from teacher to student through time. In past ages, more qualified students could assimilate the knowledge by hearing just once from the spiritual master. In the present Vedic timeline, the present age (Kali-yuga) which required that the teaching be recorded in writing for study, assimilation, and transmission. This was accomplished by Srila Vyasadeva, who is considered a literary incarnation of Godhead, who recorded Vedic knowledge in many volumes with various topics of knowledge, in the Sanskrit language. Saints and sages, student and teachers, have benefited from these same writings for thousands of years. We are eternally grateful to Srila AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who translated many volumes from the treasure house of Vedic wisdom into English for study in Western/English speaking world. Swami Prabhupada, then aged 69, landed in New York in 1965 without any means to speak of, yet miraculously translated and published 70 volumes of Vedic wisdom in following 12 years until his passing at age 81. Since then, Bhakti-yoga centers have continued to expanded throughout India and rest of the world, with at least 500 million books/literatures in different languages distributed throughout the world.
